May I offer you a very warm welcome to Stourport Primary, a really wonderful school, which provides every child with an engaging and exciting education which is challenging and creative.
I have been a Parent Governor at the school since 2004 and became Chair of Governors when we became Stourport Primary School in 2007. I have the pleasure of working with a great team of knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate people who form our Local Governing Board and Teaching Staff. They work tirelessly to shape and deliver the very best education for our children at the school.
For me one of the greatest privileges is seeing all the discussions and decisions in those meetings translate into laughter and learning in the class room. I have many wonderful memories of seeing our youngsters full of eagerness and energy learning through having fun and exploring.
Taking the opportunity to capture pupil experiences of the education at the school is a great way of gauging how we are doing and what we can do to improve even more. Before Year 6 pupils left, I spoke with over a third of the year group and asked them a few questions such as;
“If you met a child who might join our school, how would you describe what it is like being a pupil here?”
Here are a few of the replies;
“Being a pupil at Stourport Primary is excellent; it is a fun and friendly place”
“It is a fantastic school. All the teachers are friendly and all the lessons are interesting”
“If you could change up to three things in school to make it even better, what would you change and why?”
Apart from three requests for a swimming pool and another for free ice lollies! Here are some of the responses;
“Nothing because everything is right the way it is.”
“I wouldn’t want to change anything, it’s great the way it is”
I am very proud to be part of Stourport Primary, to help make sure that every pupil who comes to our school has an inspiring and first class education and has the opportunity and the skills to unlock their potential and realise their dreams.

The School Council is made up of two children from each year group in Key Stage 2 and they are elected by the children of the class. They play a major role in the school, making decisions on many matters and supporting fundraising for the school and other charities. Each week the Chair and Secretary of the School Council meet with Mr Hirons and the Senior Leadership Team to review progress and plan their next steps, before they meet with the rest of the Council Body.
This year, our School Council Reps are:
Three children have been democratically elected to represent Stourport Primary Academy on the SAET Pupil Council. They meet with representatives from all of our other schools to help ensure that the children across our Trust get the best opportunities they can. They work with Mrs Reeves-Walters to organise a Trust-Wide events where children from across the Trust can participate with each other.
Our SAET Council Reps, also sit on the School Council to help ensure that all of our children’s views are shared with the Trust. Check back soon to find out who our new Trust Councillors are for 2026-27.
