P.E. & Sports Funding
In March 2013 the government announced that it was to provide funding of £450 million per annum for academic years 2013 to 2016 to improv provision of physical education (P.E.) and sport in primary schools in England.
All schools have to spend the sport funding on improving their provision of P.E. and sport, but there is freedom to choose how we do it. At Stourport Primary we recognise the contribution of P.E. to the health and well-being of our children. We also believe that providing an innovative and varied P.E. curriculum and a range of extra-curricular opportunities will have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all pupils, as well as introducing them to life-long interests.
From 2017 the Government have doubled the funding for Primary schools. The money that Stourport Primary Academy has received for P.E. & Sports Funding for 2017/18 is £18,450.00.
